A Comprehensive Operating Guide On Cold Rooms
Old Coldrooms
When it comes to buying a new walk in cold room, please make sure that an old/redundant refrigeration is disposed of safely and legally. It’s best to remove the doors before disposing off in order to ensure safety.
Don’t unpack the cold room by yourself. It needs to be carried out by the installer, who will remove all interior and exterior packaging and accessories.
When it comes to installing cold room, the intended site should be level to facilitate precise erection and to ensure correct operation of self-closing doors and appropriate drainage of condensate from the evaporator. While installing a freezer room, the provision needs to be made for a 90mm floor. You should get the appropriate assessment first to avoid the risk of slips, trips and other potential Health & Safety risks. Consideration must be given to non-slip floor coverings or mats.
Cold room should be accurately connected to the mains electrical supply during assembly and installation. All necessary electrical components will be supplied. If you ever decide to shift the cold room, contact a competent electrician.
It is highly recommended to remove the key from the lock during normal working use and stored in a safe place. If left in the lock, there is a possibility for the key to be damaged or knocked and could be resulted in having a new lock fitted.
Always make sure that the room in which the equipment is installed is properly ventilated. The fans and condensing unit produce substantial amounts of heat and if you will operate it in unventilated spaces, particularly in warm weather, will rapidly cause the ambient temperature to ascend to extreme temperatures. This may cause motor and compressor overheating while creating possible damage to the windings.
The cold room’s controller measures in either °C or °F and it must be checked daily to ensure that the equipment is maintaining the right temperature.
General product models are designed to operate at +1°C/+4°C (34°F/39°F).
Fresh Meat Models Fresh meat models are designed to operate on –2°C/+2°C (28°F/36°F).Frozen Food Storage Models
Frozen food storage models are designed to operate at -18°C/-22°C (0°F/-8°F).
Cold room’s controller will start an automatic defrost cycle in which the refrigeration system is turned off, whereas the electric defrost system is switched on. This defrosts the evaporator coil and this operation increases the temperature of the cold room to some extent for some time but does not affect the stored product. When the defrost operation is in progress, the defrost indicator on the control panel will light up with ‘dEF’ displayed until the defrost cycle has finished.”
Cold room comes with a built in audio/visual Hi-Lo alarm. If the room temperature surpasses the factory set alarm temperature and duration, the control will display a temperature alarm and trigger a sounder. You can cancel the alarm by pressing the ‘ i ’ button.
